Mews to Show Greenwald Films, Tribute to Rob Borsellino
(Des Moines, IA) - The Vaudeville Mews, 212 Fourth Street, downtown Des Moines, will present a tribute to Rob Borsellino, Saturday and Sunday, February 25 and 26. We will show a series of films on our 9x12 foot screen that embody the indomitable spirit of this very special person. The films have been selected by Mews in the person of Frank Burnette, not Rob. So blame him.
The films include four thought provoking works by Robert Greenwald, Uncovered, Outfoxed, Unconstitutional, and the Wal-Mart movie. The first three were shown to turn away crowds a year ago August and the same with the Wal-Mart film a few weeks ago. In addition, we plan to show a short called Fortunate Son, by Des Moines native Greg Wilcox, and at least The Bush Family Fortune. Others may be added as time permits.
As with a first showing of all of the Greenwald films, there will be no charge at the door (they don’t charge us, we don’t charge you), but we earnestly solicit your contribution for the college fund for Rob and Rekha’s sons. For checks written ahead of time, the payee should be Rob Borsellino Book Fund. Copies of Rob’s book (So Im talkin’ to this guy,” ), with all proceeds going likewise, will be for sale at $14.95 for soft cover, $24.95 for hard, plus tax.
We hope to also have footage of Rob in recent media appearances discussing the disease ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) which has affected all of us by affecting him and his family, with emphasis on the relationship between the disease and the only real prospect for cure - stem cell research, not in political favor with a certain denizen of the White House.
The films will be screened in the following order at the following tentative times, all subject to change:
Saturday, February 25:
10 A.M. Robert Greenwald’s Uncovered (Iraq)
Noon Robert Greenwald’s Outfoxed (Fox News)
2 P.M. Robert Greenwald’s Unconstitutional (Patriot Act)
4 P.M. Robert Greenwald’s Wal-Mart Movie
Sunday, February 26:
10 A.M. Robert Greenwald’s Uncovered (Iraq)
Noon Robert Greenwald’s Outfoxed (Fox News)
It is possible additional films will be shown. Please check subsequent publicity. Please come and see any or all of the screenings, either or both days. Celebrate this unique individual and his contribution to his adopted city.
